Michael Angove

10th - 30th May

We are thrilled to welcome esteemed artist Michael Angove RCA back to Gallery At Home, with his first solo show at our new location, Parc Lettis.

Michael Angove's work is an exquisite celebration of the rare and revered art of trompe l'oeil drawing. Each carefully chosen object is rendered with a finely sharpened colour pencil onto archival paper - a space he calls 'The Empty Room'.

Drawing inspiration from the Georgian era, the Age of Enlightenment and the Royal Court, legacy and heritage are central themes in Angove's highly symbolic drawings.

The objects captured and held in his upcoming show SILENTLY LOUD, illustrate how the unassuming assumes great importance in isolation.

Each element holds a particular significance - the dandelion embodies resilience, evoking the passage of time and the act of making wishes. Feathers for luck, or for loss. A memory of a walk.

Each of us will bring something of ourselves to the viewing experience.

These impeccable drawings are hard-won and intensively time-consuming to create. This will be a fantastic opportunity for collectors to see his exquisite work, usually only ever shown in London, here in the flesh.

We open on Saturday 10th May 1-4pm and the exhibition will run for three weeks until 30th May. The gallery will be open every Wednesday 11-4pm throughout and by appointment on all other days.

Artwork from this exhibition is available to view and purchase online here.
