Michael Angove

Artist Michael Angove in his studio

Michael Angove MA RCA is a Welsh artist and designer based in Devizes, Wiltshire. Trained at Winchester School of Art, he later attained a Masters degree from The Royal College of Art, before going on to work for Jean-Paul Gaultier, Hugo Boss and Antonio Marras.

Having cut his teeth in the fashion houses, Angove launched his own independent design brand - specialising in meticulous, high-impact imagery for products, textiles, interiors  and illustration. He’s been invited to create bespoke collections for Liberty of London, Jo Malone London and has collaborated with Farrow & Ball and Agent Provocateur.

Michael's work is an exquisite celebration of the rare and revered art of trompe l'oeil drawing. Each carefully chosen object is rendered with a finely sharpened colour pencil onto archival paper - a space he calls 'The Empty Room'. Concerned with individuality, society and solitude, Angove's cerebral anecdotes initiate a conversation. Drawing inspiration from the Georgian era, the Age of Enlightenment and the Royal Court, legacy and heritage are central themes to his practice.

Michael Angove's drawings are eagerly anticipated, both in the UK and internationally. His work can be found in private collections in Paris, Singapore, Hong Kong, New York, Chicago, Miami and Palm Beach, as well as throughout the UK.
