Summer Exhibition 2025
Summer Exhibition 2025
Opens Saturday 21st June 1-4pm
The ethos of Gallery At Home has always been to bring diverse, provocative, and soulful artworks into the heart of our community. With this, our first Open Call Summer Exhibition brings together 35 emerging and established artists from across the UK. The result is a vibrant, compelling show, full of fresh, exciting work for our collectors to view, experience, and live alongside.
We are immensely grateful to the many hundreds of artists who submitted to our first open call. The standard was incredibly high, and each work was considered with care and curiosity. Our final selection was guided by the following criteria, articulated by our guest judge Sam Lock:
“Our approach was steered by the following: the initial personality of the work—content over style; that our interest in the piece deepened the longer we spent with it, rather than faded. We also considered the narrative arc of the exhibition itself. Across the chosen works, you’ll find threads of journey, place, micro and macro worlds, memory and time, the physical and the metaphysical.”
Heartfelt thanks to fellow gallerist Katherine Sheers, whose passion, professionalism, and tireless behind-the-scenes work made this show possible. Katherine is often the front-line contact between gallery and artist and her discerning eye was vital in the curating of such a cohesive show.
We are also deeply grateful to renowned British abstract artist Sam Lock, a regular exhibitor at Gallery At Home, who made the final selection with careful finesse. Sam has also generously contributed £200 towards our £1,000 bursary, which will be awarded to one outstanding artist on the day of the launch.
Finally, to our beloved community of collectors, artists, neighbours and friends - thank you. Your continued support of this home-grown, heart-led gallery makes everything possible.
We look forward to welcoming you on Saturday 21st June, when this powerful collection of works will fill the four rooms of our home. We hope you’ll find something that stirs, surprises, and stays with you.
