It’s all about flowers in current work by photographer Toril Brancher. The innate beauty in each stage of the blossoms, from an early promise of what is to come, to the decline before a compostable end, with seeds and roots promising a repeat performance.
When Toril isn't making images with flowers, she can be found in her garden looking and growing, nurturing and placing plants - the light, the colours and the process of life, endlessly holding her attention. There is a connection with the plants simply through them being alive. The focus is on the moment, the here and now.
"Somehow the plants mark time with their individual lifecycle, thus marking my own time’.
Originally from Oslo Norway, Toril Brancher now lives and works in South Wales.
