Jane Corbett

Jane’s forty years of creative practice include paint, mixed media sculpture, print, ceramic and glass on a domestic scale, wrapped around 20 years as a couture milliner.

Jane lives and works in Berkshire, England. As a night owl, she often paints quietly to the sound of real owl calls in the birch and oak trees outside her garden studio.

The overriding themes running throughout her work are objects of desire, odd collections, delicious detail, and strange plants and seeds. She has an enduring fascination with museum displays, cabinets, glass domes, and the perception of ‘precious’ created by the choice of display.

“Curiosity is my best feature and I believe curiosity is the core of creativity.”

Jane Corbett has exhibited extensively throughout the UK and her work is held in numerous private collections.
